EMDR Therapy

With Natalie Saada, LMHC,
and Cushion Mental Health

We’re therapists who have used EMDR in our own therapy.
We’ve experienced firsthand how powerful it is when your nervous system stops reacting like the past is still happening.

Has talk therapy helped you understand, but not fully change things?

Are you emotionally stuck, overwhelmed, or constantly activated?

Does anxiety, emotional reactions, shutting down, people-pleasing, or a harsh inner critic never seem to turn off.

Patterns that once helped you survive can quietly continue running your life long after the danger has passed. Even when you logically know you’re safe now, your body may still react like you are not.

Clients Come To Us When They’re:

  • Constantly overwhelmed

  • Emotionally reactive

  • Stuck in old patterns

  • Living with anxiety

  • Feeling emotionally numb

  • Struggling with attachment

  • Fighting their inner critic

  • Tired of surviving

You don’t need a formal trauma diagnosis for EMDR.

EMDR helps your brain and body process the past so it stops being emotionally overwhelming in the present.

EMDR therapy is structured, collaborative, and paced around your nervous system. We start by helping you build safety and emotional regulation before moving into deeper processing work.

You won’t be pushed to relive everything all at once. We move gradually, helping your brain and body process experiences so they lose their emotional intensity over time.

What EMDR Therapy With Us Looks Like

The EMDR Process

  • Our early sessions focus on trust, emotional regulation, and helping you recognize when your nervous system becomes activated.

  • We pay attention to what your body and mind naturally bring forward rather than forcing memories or timelines.

  • We process experiences gradually so they no longer feel emotionally overwhelming in the present.

  • Some people experience relief quickly. Others move more slowly. Therapy is tailored to your goals and nervous system.

Modalities We Use

  • Helps your brain process painful memories so they no longer trigger the same emotional intensity.

  • Identifies the thoughts and beliefs connected to anxiety, shame, and self-criticism.

  • Helps you build practical changes that create relief in daily life.

  • Creates structure and direction throughout the therapy process.

Let Your Nervous System Rest

EMDR doesn't erase memories. It helps those memories
stop controlling your day-to-day life.
